Chemo #2 = HISTORY!

Mornin's a bright, sunny, cool (NOT cold and snowy!) Arizona morning! It's absolutely beautiful out. All's right with the world! Brenda is sleeping, the dogs are outside guarding the backyard again any coyotes, and I've checked on my farm crops...yes! I got hooked into playing "Farmville!!" Vic is coming to visit today and she's bringing her fantastic brownies...she makes the BEST brownies I've ever eaten. The temps here today are expected to hit a wonderful 70 degrees so she'll get to hang out in a t-shirt. Fantastic!

Chemo #2 was administered on Tuesday and all went well. It really doesn't take the nurses long to get Bren's treatment's just getting IN that's always the problem. We usually have to wait about an hour because they are so busy. We just block off most of the day and we're mentally good. Besides...once they have her all hooked up and I know Bren's OK...I head across the street to the Starbucks for my "juice of life" and a Coke for my girl. I'm so thankful that I'm not writing about all the horrible things we're experiencing...because we aren't!! Thank the Lord! And thanks for your continued prayers and all the positive energy. I know that's such good medicine. I just don't know how we would have made this journey without you all behind us. You all are the best!

We're anxious to spend the weekend with Vic. There's some shopping to do, the big game to watch on Sunday, and time shared laughing with a dear, dear friend...what could be better. Besides...she's bringing those fantastic brownies!! Ha!

Have a wonderful day everyone...I'll be back with more news from the home front soon.

Dee, Brenda, Abbie and Tanner

  1. WUHOO SISTER!!!! Good for you and your amazing nurse! Glad to hear the good news, loved your phone message too hahaha... Have a wonderful time with Vic. She will be your weekend sunshine you need, she is such a hoot. What more fun could you ask for, shopping, food, lots of laughter and football. 1 question tho? What makes her brownies sooooo good..... hummmmmm just curious. Haven't had a GOOD brownie in many many years, if you know what I mean :) HA HA
Glad to hear all is well. You are on a roll now.
    Love you lots!!!

  3. I am very happy to hear things are going well and that chemo has not been so hard on Brenda this time.

    Enjoy your weekend with Vic!

  4. Hi ladies and puppies,

Hope you all had a great weekend. There was snow on the East Coast, worse in the mid-atlantic states and not a flake here in Northern NJ. Not that it would have mattered, Karen and I were in San Diego - me on business and Karen on fun. We had a great time enjoying friends and the weather - albeit a bit rainy. We did get to exercise our laugh muscles and get them stretched and limber. That will be crucial for the Amazon riverboat trip. It is important to stay in shape.
So Dr. Vic - what medicinal properties are added to your brownies that make them so special. Rhonda and I might be thinking along the same lines. If that is true, I have not had one of them there brownies (wink wink) since freshman year of college - way back in the day. But I swear I didn't inhale ;)
I must say in all my years, I never thought I would feel such relief to receive word that "nothing exciting is happening." Consistency is a good thing isn't it?
Hope you had a great time with Vic and got some good laugh muscle exercise as well. Talk soon. Love to you all. Vic travel safely
